• I heard him explain/explaining it. = Čula sam ga da je to objasnio/objašnjavao.
• He watched her go/going. = Gledao je dok je otišla/odlazila.

5) + “to”-infinitiv ili glagol na “-ing”
• He began to talk/talking about his past. = Počeo je govoriti o svojoj prošlosti.
• I plan to take/taking a course. = Namjeravam krenuti na tečaj.

6) + that + rečenica
• He decided that he would quit his job. = Odlučio je da će napustiti svoj posao.
• We expect that this research will take quite a lot of time. = Očekujemo da će nam to istraživanje oduzeti mnogo vremena.

• Your father will forbid you to marry/marrying this boy. = Otac će ti zabraniti udati se za tog momka.
• The security system will not permit you to enter/entering without the card. = Sigurnosni sistem ti neće dozvoliti ući bez kartice.

• My mother taught me to ride a bike. = Mama me je naučila voziti bicikl.
• Larry’s neighbor advised me to use another bait. = Larryjev susjed mi je savjetovao da upotrijebim drugi mamac.
